There are links to the Forum Rule and Forum Guide (this guide) at the top of every forum.
You can create a new thread by clicking Create New Thread.
Each forum can be personalized (change the category it appears in) by clicking Personalize Category.

Each forum has different columns.
First we have the title of the forum. From this screenshot we can tell that it is the Health and Fitness forum found in the Sports category.
The second column has the author of the thread. In this example the users meds, NeLLeN, Dexx, and .Silverrose. have created threads.
The third and fourth columns indicate how many people have replied to a thread and how many people have actually read the thread.
Our last column explains who made the last post in that thread and at what time. This is useful to see how old the thread is.
Each thread is colour coded depending on its status:
The number of users in the forum is also displayed in the legend. For privacy reasons we have decided not to actually say who is in the forum.
About Posts
Each thread is made up of Posts. Each post is in chronological order, starting with the oldest post at the top of the page and the newest post at the bottom.
You can see that this thread is about creatine and it is in the Health and Fitness forum in the Sports category.
By clicking Subscribe you can be updated about everytime someone makes a new post. This shows up in your Subscriptions page which is located on the top menu.
Alternately, you can set your Preferences to automatically subscribe you to the forum if you make a post.
Here is a what a post normally looks like. Everything in red is an explanation of a feature.
If you want to make a post of your own either hit Reply in the thread or go to the last (or current if it's one) page of the thread and scroll to the bottom.
You will be presented with this box and you may type in a reply.
Along the top of this box are different formatting options. For a better explanation of forum code and how it works click here.
You can also add smilies to a post by clicking on them at the right hand side. You can scroll through different pages by hitting Prev and Next.
An alternate way to post is to hit ALT+S. Some find this faster than clicking on Post
